By accessing or using Shortlist AI ("the Service"), operated by Shortlist AI LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
The Service is available at tryshortlistai.com and includes all related tools, features, and services we provide, including AI resume tailoring, mock interviews, job tracking, compensation analysis, and any future features.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Shortlist AI provides AI-powered career tools including:
Resume tailoring and optimization using artificial intelligence, AI-powered mock interview practice with voice capabilities, job application tracking and management, compensation analysis and negotiation coaching, cover letter generation, and PDF resume export.
The Service uses third-party AI models (including Anthropic Claude and OpenAI) to generate content. AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and should be reviewed by you before use.
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate resume content, interview feedback, compensation analysis, and other outputs. While we strive for accuracy and quality, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or biases. You acknowledge that:
AI outputs are suggestions, not guarantees of employment outcomes. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use. We do not guarantee that AI-tailored resumes will pass any specific ATS system. Mock interview scores and feedback are approximate and may not reflect actual interview performance. Compensation data and negotiation advice is informational only and should not be considered financial advice.
The Service offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are available within 7 days of initial purchase. All prices are in US dollars and are subject to change with 30 days notice.
The free plan includes limited usage of AI features. Specific limits are displayed within the Service and may change at our discretion. We reserve the right to modify free tier features and limitations at any time.
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, and personal information ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not sell Your Content to third parties. We do not use Your Content to train our own AI models. Your Content is transmitted to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) solely for processing your requests. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
You agree not to: use the Service to generate fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive resumes or professional documents; misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or credentials; use the Service for any illegal purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or access the source code of the Service; use automated scripts or bots to access the Service; share your account credentials with others; or use the Service to harm, harass, or discriminate against others.
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Shortlist AI LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written permission. AI-generated content produced for you through the Service is yours to use freely.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHORTLIST AI LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shortlist AI LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
